Guys. My mom was awake for her hip replacement. AWAKE. They gave an epidural and nerve block to the hip and leg, with some light sedation. She was like oh yeah I heard them hammering 😂 She woke up pain free and happy she had it done. PT tomorrow to see if she can escape the hospital by evening. Thanks for the well wishes and good juju!
@GrimmReality Yeah. I totally assumed general anesthesia. Is this what we’re doing now? Granted I had epidurals with my c-sections so, yeah, I guess this is what we’re doing. Recovery is a lot easier?

I’ve had around 20 or so c-scopes. I prefer the versed-fentanyl sedation over propofol, which I had the last two times. I really enjoy the prolonged, gradual wakening over 30-45 minutes. It’s a nice reward after the prep which damn near kills me every time. Plus I can milk it for some TLC from the wife for a couple hours. None of that wake right up and get on with your day crap.
