That's what you get for buying into a proprietary standard (owned by an idiot with the emotional stability of a toddler) instead of an open standard.
"The North American Charging Standard (NACS), being standardized as SAE J3400, is an electric vehicle (EV) charging connector system developed by Tesla, Inc."
I guess this leaves the word "being" before standardized somewhat hanging.
@John@exador23 I spent quite a bit of time on standards organizations (even have one to my credit), and this is the monkey business that I saw (in my world at that time, perpetuated by Cisco). They develop their own stuff, and then try to shove it on the industry as a "standard" -- missing key parts to make that work... which can be conveniently "licensed" for a per-unit fee from the company contributing their "standard". I was able to shut that down with the stuff I was involved with (ran the group as chairperson), but it's endemic in the industry.
I suspect that's what Jack is trying to do with Bluesky and their supposed 'federation'. And why I have no interest in it.
Just ignore ActivityPub and the related standard open protocols that have been developed over the last 16 years that work just fine in order to force their own standard.
