I cannot overstate how dangerous to free speech and a healthy democracy it is to redefine all anti-Zionism and criticism of the state of Israel as antisemitism. You know who's loudly critical of Zionism and the Israeli govt? Jews. A lot of Jews.
@evacide Constructive criticism is always needed for me there has never been and will never be a consensus to discriminate against Jews or paint the Star of David on front doors or stairwells, or better yet intimidate Jews who live in Europe. This has nothing to do with Zionists or anti-Zionists.
@daridrea@evacide who exactly is intimidating us Jews in Europe? I’ve never seen or experienced it. The only intimidation I’ve faced were from vitriolic pro Israel fellow Jews who called me a Kapo for marching alongside pro ceasefire people of all religions and none. I just laughed in their faces. The same folk were aggressive towards the Hasidic in the community because of their religious opposition to Zionism.
@evacide Not to mention that there are plenty of people who identify as Zionists who nevertheless are outraged at the Netanyahu government (some because of the war, others because of his corruption); there are huge marches protesting against him right now.

All this rhymes with the Reformation and 30 years war, and the long subjugation of religious freedom by a religious state, the Holy Roman Empire and its aftermath. Israel is recapitulating this historical arc. Zionism is a distinct nationalist identity from the cultural streams it emerged from, just as the Church was.
The death toll in Gaza is yet accounted publicly. Israel has exterminated 5% of the Gaza population (100k+), famine and disease are killing tens of thousands more on an ongoing basis as the population succumbs to total siege. A generation of children wiped. By the end of this Israel shall have killed 10% or more of the population, mostly women and children.
The mass graves of the executed. The torture. All of it will come to light more than now.
Dear, that is the point of the Zionist project, to restore the historical territory and create an Ashkenazi dominant Jewish ethno-religious state. It’s been a 75 year project to ethnically cleanse the lands of the indigenous populations, and replace the indigenous Mizrahi cultures with Ashkenazi culture.
Ashkenazi are the elites and dominate culture and the Sephardic and Mizrahi the underclass.
But Christian Zionists are the largest Zionist population.
