The United Nations General Assembly decided to overwhelmingly to grant Palestinians additional rights in the global body, after their drive for full membership was blocked by the United States.

The resolution, introduced by the United Arab Emirates, says, “The State of Palestine is qualified for membership in the United Nations in accordance with Article 4 of the Charter and should therefore be admitted.”

‘United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) resolution calling on the Security Council to reconsider Palestinian membership to the UN passed on Friday.’


Reminder that this resolution does not make Palestine a UN member.

That requires a Security Council recommendation, which the United States vetoed.

This General Assembly vote determines that Palestine is qualified for UN membership, and gives Palestine more procedural righ

One clear sign of how ignorant and immature the college protesters are is how they all don't seem to want to be held accountable for the crimes they committed.

I wish that our U.S. campuses would at least still assign students to read MLK's Letter from a Birmingham jail, and Thoreau's essay on Civil Disobedience.

I think these protesters have failed the guidelines of: collection of the facts to determine whether injustices exist; negotiation; self-purification; and effective direct action.

@alkeddie No he made unhinged comments about an “ancient desire to wipe out the Jewish people”. There are more than a few problems with this statement: Hamas is less than 40 yrs old, so who is he saying this ancient desire belong to? Arabs? Muslims? Palestinians? He’s basically saying the problem is not stemming from Hamas, but something innate in the native population. Racist fool

@Shadedlady @Nonilex it is all about smearing her name. They know the media will focus on this rather than actually why he is on trial. I’m finding all this both fascinating and bloody bizarre. In my country attacking her ‘story’ and her personally when it is not relevant to the case would not last 2mins before the judge kicked the legal teams hard in the ass. This type of “sensationalism” just doesn’t wash outside the USA.

I'm sick of hearing Sunak warble on about "delivering for the British people..."

Just remember exactly WHAT 'Tories have delivered. CUTS! Our standard of living has diminished.

How did they ever persuade people they were fiscally responsible?

They've not improved the quality of anyone's life! People need services, and in a supposed first world country we should be able to expect better!

From our health service to pot holes, the country is in decline.

@TalktoBeverley there are huge swathes of people in England who support that. Braverman isn’t stupid. She knows Lab’s vote share last week was one of the poorest ever. Greens and Ind candidates did terrific and Labour have lost the Muslim and progressive vote. She knows people are not flocking to Labour, just not turning out for the Tories. She’s aiming to attract back those who voted Reform and those who didn’t turn out as they think Sunak is too liberal and to minimise seat loses

He tells Trump he's about to issue his ruling, in which he will again find Trump in contempt of court.

The last thing I want to do is put you in jail, Justice Merchan says to Trump. You are the former President of the United States and possibly the next President as well.

But "going forward," he continues, "this court will have to consider jail sanctions" if necessary.

The American Israel Public Affairs Committee is reportedly secretly intervening to stymie Susheela Jayapal's (sister of Rep. Pramila) congressional race in Portland.

AIPAC is funneling money through 314 Action, which says it helps elect Democrats with a science background, in this case Maxine Dexter, a doctor.

Jewish Insider news had floated Dexter as a potentially pro-Israel candidate before she entered the race.
