It’s not science so much as it is our basic anthropocentric chauvinism. Once any zoonotic disease crosses over to humans it ought automatically to become a human disease. None of this bird flu, or mad cow disease. By rights, since this former bird flu was first detected in cows in Texas, it should definitely be called Texas flu. And blame Ted Cruz for it too just because he’s a dick.
@qurlyjoe@the_etrain It should be nicknamed Texas Ted Dick Fungus, transferable via touch, bodily fluids and air. That might actually give better traction to acceptance of all countermeasures, wouldn't you say?
