Just drove 124km at 73 km/h avg speed (only a short segment on the Autobahn), used 13.5 kWh/100km or ~1.5L/100km (235mpg). The efficiency of EVs is remarkable. Oh and 69%(nice) charge left off the 99% charge at start. 🖖
@janl it‘s so great. our iX is comparatively bad at 22 kWh/100km or ~2.5L/100km on average on longer trips at maybe 130 km/h max (US). but that‘s a large car and on fully packed trips… and it still beats most gas cars in acceleration 💨. it’s such a no brainer imo.
@janl iX 50 not i4. Range is around 300 miles plus/minus for large ~110 kWh battery, which is awesome. Wonderful car overall. i4 is great too (just been a passenger though).
@janl another part - that nobody ever talks about it seems - is that fuel cost should be only ~50% of gas (for same mileage and car type). at least here in the US with cheap gas. idk exact number since we don’t pay anything right now as we got 2 year free charging with Electrify America (VW) with the car, which is nice too. just needs more affordable BEVs now.
@alexkli and when you have solar at home it’s actually free. Some tariffs here even let you “fill the grid battery” with the home and then use that energy on fast chargers around the country, again for free. It’s so good.
