    @tbaldauf tbh I’ve read many times how bleak the outlook for 2040-2050 really is, but there are still not many public interviews where this is openly stated. Schellnhuber had that very drastic schoolbus analogy on TV once. I sometimes wonder if we need even more of such brutal honesty in public or if it still won’t change much.

    @tbaldauf the scientific frame sometimes feels like a cushion to me. With such statements, that cushion is ripped away and I personally think it’s good

    @marcthiele yeah, it was somewhere between hers and mine but a lot darker than hers. I read that they are visible in parts of BW and being in Bavaria right now we just still gave it a shot and it was pretty cool.

    @Lippe @leonoverweel exactly! Since 2023, new installations are also VAT-free which gave a pretty drastic immediate boost. The big drop in 2012/13 is also related to a policy change that dropped feed-in prices significantly

    Big news: I’m happy to share that yesterday I started a new job at Microsoft where I'll be working on web components for Fluent UI.

    I've had a long relationship with Microsoft – from Paravel helping to build the first responsive version of their homepage in 2012 to the whole 5 year "" stunt that Rey Bango coordinated for ShopTalk – and this feels like a nice new chapter in that story arc.

    I'm now officially "I've used and tried dozens of bookkeeping apps & services in the last years and finally ended up with a simple spreadsheet and I couldn't be happier" years old.

    @MaiKueper The only thing I miss is OCR to detect stuff from the invoices. But it's only a nice-to-have feature for me and spreadsheets are most of the time so much faster to edit that the OCR-speed-benefit is easily outperformed again.
