Feeling discouraged. I have so much work; really good completed songs. They are really good. I believe in them. Getting them out into the world in a presentable form is scary and hard. :BlobhajShock:
@ambergrey It is really hard work, and it's easy to get discouraged. Is there anyone you can collaborate with? Tigersonic has some helpful coaching / mentoring ideas that don't have to cost a fortune, I think she's based in South London area (ish). She puts out a sporadic newsletter to help creatives too, and is just generally lovely. https://www.creativehead.space/tigersonic/
@ambergrey
Been working on an album for over five years now. Redoing songs two or three times because they’re never quite what I want. And now I’m really lacking motivation, I just don’t have the energy or desire to continue.
Keep going, don’t give up. The snippets I’ve heard are great. I know you can do it.
@ambergrey
I’m soooooo close too. I have 11 songs mixed and ready for mastering, 5 originals and 6 covers. I have 3 or 4 more originals I really want to get finished, but I’m just struggling to actually get in the studio and finish them. Figure once I have I will pick the 8 or 9 strongest songs and actually create a BandCamp account and release them. I promise that I’ll keep going.
@ambergrey I kept the tracks of my "Please Stand Here" album on ice for almost two years. I did not release it until I was ready for it. Take your time. It is okay 😃
@ambergrey Most welcome. I needed some distance from my work so I could listen to it with fresh ears and heart and build a new relationship with it. Then I had it mastered by a good friend. I've always done my own mastering. But that was the magic trick for me. enjoy the process.
