@kcarruthers It is unclear from the Nature report whether the government is trying to close him down, or if it is a minor dispute. In any case he is a hero for getting the genome published so quickly, allowing faster development of vaccines, and saving lives. His act stands in contrast to later obfuscation and secrecy from the Chinese government. I wish him well.
The Chinese Government, like the US Government prioritizes politics and avoiding embarrassment and punishing those who defy them, as well as prioritizing commerce over health and lives.
There exceptional early actions were worthy of commendation. All of that is lost now.
