If your vacuum cleaner does not wlhave the power it used to anymore, change those filters. Seriously. Invest the money, change the filters. It's magic.
@vicgrinberg We've got more than one vacuum cleaner, I've got into the habit of using one cleaner to vacuum the filters of the other. Quicker than washing and drying.
@EricBranse that is actually clever - I did try to use the handheld one for this, but the power isn't quiet there + the filters were really old, like ~six years by now. (some of them during the height of the pandemic when the cleaner wasn't used much as I was at a different place.)
Yes. Just, all vacuum cleaners I have seen being thrown away by their owners because "not working anymore" simply had filters clogged up by dust and never cleaned.
Actually, I am used to live in several places in Europe in parallel, and in all of them I use vacuum cleaners other people had decided to throw away because "not working any more". 🥳
@CGdoppelpunkt excellent! My only similar deed was to "repair" the vacuum cleaner of some folks I was subletting from for two months and who were very apologetic about their vacuum cleaner not working properly 😂
