Journalists, activists and other people that need the best privacy and security probably should not use either as both require a phone number and complete trust on how the information is shared through their servers.
ShareX and Briar are far better options for those concerned.
Also, after reading the whole thread I've found it a bit shameful. It's a very biased and even childish rant. Too much prejudice and too little analysis. It's so bad it makes Durov and Telegram look amazingly good.
