@jon An off-topic question: Strasbourg-Kehl (even Krimmeri w/o an reduction card) bought from France costs nearly as same with a Kehl-Offenburg (much longer distance) bought from Germany. Why ?

It because the regional train tariffs being much more expensive in France than Germany as usual ? Or another reason ??

jon,
@jon@gruene.social avatar

@bilginveperk yes that’s the reason I think.

@jon the German phrase is "Ersatzverkehr" but it says so on all Ortenau-S-Bahn trains all the time. Might have something to do with the late introduction of battery trains although they aren't meant for the Strasbourg line anyway

@simonschre there are overnight engineering works too.

@jon @simonschre I also can't see any other reason why it shouldn't run. The replacement buses in the evening are clearly shown as buses with significant longer journey times. So I'm very sure there must be an error in SWEG's timetable data.

@wrzlbrnft @simonschre it’s here

ummels,

@jon @wrzlbrnft @simonschre Still only two units? With the introduction of the Mireos, they could use some more RegioShuttles for Offenburg-Strasbourg, one could be tempted to think.

jon,
@jon@gruene.social avatar

@ummels @wrzlbrnft @simonschre yep. And standing room only from Kehl onwards.

@jon You could look at SWEG‘s website, but it sure looks like an error in the data to me.

jon,
@jon@gruene.social avatar

@toni there are buses at night

@guenther no that’s only at night

partim,

@jon @guenther But also: What? Is it really not possible to organise a joint bus service? Will the busses wait in Kehl in case of delays? That’s a lot of anxiety I’d really don’t need at 11 p.m.

jon,
@jon@gruene.social avatar

@partim @guenther it’s France - BaWü. No one gives a fuck.

wrzlbrnft,
@wrzlbrnft@troet.cafe avatar

@jon I assume both buses will wait for each other at Kehl. But I don't see any reason why they can't run through. It isn't a problem between Müllheim and Mulhouse where TER buses from French operator Kunegel are running on both sides of the border. More annoying, they don't wait for the last TGV from Paris (arrival at 22:25, departure also at 22:25) and are too late in Offenburg the last ICE to Freiburg and Basel. Normally a connection that would work without any problems. @partim @guenther

jon,
@jon@gruene.social avatar

@wrzlbrnft I assume so too, but it's still more a mess than it need be - which is typical of this border, which is more of a mess than it need be… @partim @guenther
