The only people crying about how "it's dangerous for men and women to interact in the workplace" are those who associate with the behaviors being questioned.
It's honestly not that hard to not sexually harass people.
If you're someone who thinks it's "like navigating a minefield," you should really stop and take an objective view at your actions and attitudes.
Of course, I highly doubt this will apply to anyone reading this. But the point is still valid.
@waitnwallflower that's a fair point. Just because a person "feels" offended DOES NOT mean there was an objective offense committed.
Feelings are not facts.
I'm a very firm believer in innocent until proven guilty, and i think in terms of any legal proceeding, it SHOULD be hard to prove a crime to place. "Reasonable doubt" had been twisted into "which verdict are you emotionally invested in"
Oooph i could go off for days on this shit.
But, at the same time, i recognize that the vast overwhelming majority of the time a woman does make a complaint, it's because she genuinely feels something happened.
@waitnwallflower haha i meant about the inadequacies of our criminal justice system.
As for the sexual harassment thing, i dunno, I've honestly never really worried about it. Which might be naive on my part. I just figure if i don't act like an asshole, things will probably be ok.
And I've been in relationships with coworkers before. Once, i dated a woman that i was in a direct reporting position to. Though, never the other way around. I wouldn't even consider that. So maybe there is a double standard, and I'm just cooperating with it....
