…what is not the solution to terrible platforms is just wishing back the time when "people ran their own websites". "People" here refers to a particular kind of people with interest in technology, skills and time at their hands.
@simulo I think I just yearn for a time when 'the internet' wasn't just half a dozen VC-backed websites that were wide open to abuse from the highest bidder.
