Garf1eld,

@arstechnica that explains why the text is not readable. It's been scraped ‼️😁

sleepswithrocks,

@arstechnica Interesting he is doing this now. Imposing rate limits aside, law enforcement uses data scraping tools to monitor illegal cyber activity, such as bullying and harassment. Elon appears to be protecting criminals by this action.

bry,

@arstechnica at this rate he's going to sue Zuck's parents for creating Mark

biobrain,

@arstechnica I don’t understand how flooding the sign up page would mean someone is scraping Twitter’s posts. It sounds like people were creating bot accounts, not scraping.

I’m guessing is paranoid about AI companies using his trash database to create the troll chatbot he wants to create and is trying to scare them away. And he needs someone to blame for Twitter’s service getting worse.

I’m also guessing his lawyers just say “yeah, whatever” and make sure they’re paid in advance.

Bouncing1981,

@arstechnica lol....anything to cover incompetence...

@arstechnica Four users degraded the system for millions of other users? Is Twitter held together by gaffa tape?

@arstechnica So, we've entered the 'sue everything' portion of Twitter going bankrupt then?

pieselpriemel,

@arstechnica It's to difficult to block 4 scraping IPs. Let's limit all users instead and sue that IPs. 🤡

DrSyintist,

@arstechnica lololololol

Danielsand,

@arstechnica this screams like PR via lawsuit. That Musk is trying to blame his failures on someone else to placate his cult.

They have no names and did most of the damage to themselves.

If they knew where it was coming from - why not just block those IP addresses?

@arstechnica It was known of and permitted for the entirety of its existence before he took over.
The lawsuit has no teeth.

@arstechnica Every browser is a data scraper. It's what they do...

bflipp,

@arstechnica This surely couldn’t have been caused by over consolidation of infrastructure and the dissolution of massive amounts of support staff.

@arstechnica Wait, you can just sue nobody and be like, "I'll fill in that blank later."?
