    @kelidanovus related: switching from twitter to the fediverse has been wonderful for getting to experience the lives of more trans folks. Maybe its my filter bubble but holy 💩 are there a lot of trans folks here actively trying to live their best lives. :D

    GaianNeuron,

    @kelidanovus This was such a powerful thing for me!

    Even just following a handful of trans folk on social media gave me the mental space to not immediately reject the idea that I wasn't the gender people said I was. When that moment came, I sat and really dug into what I felt, spent the next two weeks reading every book about gender I could find, and it became real to me that it's literally all vibes and you can just be what you feel you are without asking permission.

    doppelgrau,

    @GaianNeuron @kelidanovus I also "blame" the fediverse to be a contributor in my development.
    I didn't went the "academic route" with reading so much, but starting (unconsciously) playing with gender by testing what's still acceptable (kilts, nail polish ...) and once the defense was eroded ...
    (and I guess having a nice long talk in meat space with a beautiful being helped there too, to realize that "it is possible, in real")

    Natasha_Jay,

    @doppelgrau
    I had to reply, simply because the best gendering is playful 💜

    doppelgrau,

    @Natasha_Jay It's become worse since 😹
    Thinking about my photo experiments

    Natasha_Jay,

    @doppelgrau
    If we think of gender as something to be enjoyed, rather than an ideal ... then it's rather fun? And no, I don't think for a moment it's purely a trans thing either btw

    doppelgrau,

    @Natasha_Jay Wouldn't limit that to trans people too, enjoying the gender needs "only" some freedom to express it the way you feel good.
    And there the society has many ideas what is appropriate for men/women that makes it not easy in reality.

    Maybe it's a bit easier for an enby, there are less clearly defined roles as a template. (Has other downsides, but we can concentrate on the positive here 🙂)
