@ekuber anyone else find the term “leadership chat” plain cringey?
Like, a chat room as an organisational structure is clearly amateur, but to then engrain that in the title of the body in public communication? Surely that’s a moment to realise you’ve got poor governance, not when everyone notices the awful consequences of poor governance. Oooh, we should have a decision making process?! Really!
Maybe I’m overreacting, but this all came off like teenagers starting a company.
@maegul it was the communication channel where the team leaders communicated, I find it descriptive if nothing else.
The poor governance has been recognized for a while. The current issue was caused due to the temporary structures between the Core team being disbanded and https://github.com/rust-lang/rfcs/pull/3392 being put into effect. Because this was an interim solution, it's operating procedures weren't fully defined.
