Hey, does anyone else have issues running a lemmy instance with docker compose?...
Hello, I'm quite new to the self-hosted experience, and so far I've been running my services from a RPi3b, and I'm looking to upgrade....
Edit: YOOOOOOOO YOU CAN EDIT TITLES HERE...
Are there any reasons to get a pubkey denied after you run ssh-copy-id onto your server? I've already restarted the sshd service but I still get pubkey denied after I copied my ssh I.D. to my server. I am thinking about just removing all the keys I have on the server and re-adding them but I was hoping someone else may have an...
I used the Ansible playbook instructions and got my instance up and running, which is where I'm sending this from now. Still, I was not able to get the SMTP side of things working. Does this whole setup self-host SMTP on the Lemmy instance, or is it something I'll have to sort out externally? I've heard some people have had...
We're at a great nexus for Lemmy here, with so many users (including me) giving up Reddit for good and moving to the federated universe....
I am not looking to onboard thousands of users or host large communities, just my own and some family and close friends' accounts. I don't currently have a scalable homeserver setup (just a local Home Assistant instance on a Pi) and don't have the space to put an old desktop running Proxmox on a cable....
My self hosted instance works in every way for federation, the test curl commands return JSON, I can comment and invite on another federation, and I can retrieve comments and posts by search....
Would I be compromising on the security of my local network and all the devices on it?...
I once bought a router to use for my internet when I moved into my new house just to find out that it "wasn't compatible" with Verizon's service. I still have it (because I'm terrible about returning things). Is there any point in keeping it? Is there anything fun or interesting that I could do with it?
Hello looking for a file sharing app, preferable that I can run in a docker container with a UI that displays for file recipients over a reverse proxy....
Is there a self hosted web based note app similar to Obsidian or Joplin? I've tried Trilium and its ether above my pay grade in terms of knowledge, or I've set it up wrong. I'm mostly looking for something that has support for folders or a tree structure, markdown or simple text based and all accessible buy web browser....
When I see this sort of thing, and other people are trying to do it, a reverse proxy or vpn is always mentioned. Heres my question:...
So, I have a few services (Jellyfin, Home Assistant, etc) that I am running, and have been acessing via their IP's and port numbers....
I'd like to share the project that I've worked on the past couple of weeks. I've started it after finding about how professional routers (specificaly Unifi) are managed and thinking that there should be a simalar open-source software for home networks....
Mailbrew seems to be running on life support. Login codes and reset passwords don't come through....
EDIT: I have it working now! I had to set up DKIM and configure my server so Digital Ocean created the proper PTR records. Now email is being sent to spam but at least it's making it through!...
I have a few selfhosted services, but I'm slowly adding more. Currently, they're all in subdomains like linkding.sekoia.example etc. However, that adds DNS records to fetch and means more setup. Is there some reason I shouldn't put all my services under a single subdomain with paths (using a reverse proxy), like...
I stood up a Yunohost and installed Mastodon a few months back. I had issues with storage and exponential growth as a result of federating with other instances....
I'm considering setting up a NAS to backup my stuff and replace Google Photos. Currently I'm looking at Asustor AS6704T and Synology DS923+, with the former having more powerful hardware and hardware encoding, and the latter having a better first party software experience....
Hi all!...
Hi, I am teacher. I want to make a tutorial site like here or svelte.dev/tutorial or vuejs.org/tutorial to teach basic html, css and javascript to my students. Is that kind of tutorial page custom made or part of lms-apps like moodle or something? is it possible for me to selfhost it? preferably on our school's local network?...
I'm looking for a self hosted music server (or client) that has good automatic playlist generation from a selected song, like Spotify's "your recommended". I'm currently running jellyfin and navidrome for music. The closest I've seen is beatbump but it uses YouTube for the music, I'm hoping to use my local files. Any...
Hey all! For the longest time I've had a server that hosts some things (eg Syncthing), but is only available via SSH tunneling....
