Yeah I smell bullshit. I suspect it’s going pretty badly for the thing formerly known as Twitter, but this article doesn’t show anything, but merely makes a bunch of claims. There is no documented data, and no sources stated.
Y’know, I had a love/hate relationship to twitter in the before-elon times.
On the one hand, it was a strange, toxic brew of hellish nonsense and porn On the other hand, there was a critical mass of engaged experts on lots of subjects, weighing in on current events in near-real-time.
It was like having the history faculty of several colleges on hand when historical questions came up, but in order to get their takes on anything you’d have to wade through trolls and bots and fascist sycophants to get there.
I’m a sucker for learning things and I’ll put up with a lot for the pleasure of feeding my brain but by the time Elon took the reigns the signal:noise ratios had gone too far negative to be worth it.

It’s barely been 6 weeks since the change from Twitter to X was announced… I don’t know for certain but I suspect there to have been at least one update in the last month.
I tried to use it to follow people in crypto but even many of those who stayed are now retweeting right wing conspiracy theories and anti science articles. Twitter is a disgusting hole of hate.

Hate to break it to you bub: the only places where the majority of people do not think cryptocurrencies are a scam, are crypto hangouts, and places where they haven’t heard about cryptos at all.
Is it funny? Because generally for that to be funny, the account age would have to be linked somehow to credibility. I’m sure you are not stating that,because that would be incredibly stupid.

And they keep on trying to inflate the userbase with bot accounts whose bios are weird and mostly contain suspicious links, amd use those same bots to randomly like anyone’s new posts tweets.
my usage tanked a lot when he took over, but it’s more or less done for good when tweetdeck went premium. I check in on one account now, and occasionally still bitch at customer service accounts. Other than that, Im at mastodon and bluesky.
Same. I have deleted all my tweets/likes/follows and keep the account just as a way to reach customer service accounts (which usually work much better on Twitter/X than by phone/email).
Xwitter is a Nazi hate cesspool. I deleted my account not long after Musk took over. I would be delighted to see it fail, and Musk brought down a few notches.
I saw that shit all the time before I deleted my account. If you have seen a decline in quality since I deleted my account after Muskrat took over, that place must be absolutely fucked these days.
Well he only ended up buying Twitter because he was forced to when he tried to back out after signing a contract. If he’s stupid enough to do that he’s stupid enough to ruin the platform through sheer incompetence. That being said, killing Twitter basically helps out him/his financers so I’d suspect at least some of it is on purpose.
