@box464 Could prove to the world that the Fediverse is a good option but knowing it's through Threads is's sort of annoying. Could they not just set up a official Mastodon or something.

Speaking of Mastodon and #tfg did you know #truthsocial was based on the Mastodon code, kind of got permission, after they built it.

No, I don't think so. They can't just choose not to comply with the Mastodon license without that being illegal. They are required to provide the source code (to their customers) and afaik they started doing that once they got found out.

@frog_reborn @6G It might be something to do with Security and compatibility with the Fediverse is why Mastodon has like an Update within 2 years policy but I haven't went in depth with reading the Licence for Mastodon as much prefer Sharkey myself.
