Lost faith in which was already shaky for quite some time. Upgrade to 23.04 and they replaced painstaking apt install with a snap version again, and one that is highly unstable, randomly crashing and losing all of my open tabs again and again. Meanwhile changes UX in each minor release it seems.

I should probably stop, as right now I'm typing in anger about the sad state of my system. I am still thankful for these projects and all the hard labour people put in.

For the same reason I will migrate to debian the next days.

@smallcircles I feel you. I solved the Gnome frustration by moving to Xubuntu, I am in loge with xfce stability and how fast it is compared to Gnome.
But the firefox and mixing snap and apt is super annoying.
Also the ads when you use apt are just wtf.
I will wait till I cant to finally move to debian.

@mihira oh wow, wasn't aware of apt ads just yet 😮

(weirdest combination of words too, 'apt ads' .. am sure that a marketing manager found that apt)

The forced reversal to a install also brings back those fun pranks like an invisible region around the window where you can't click on a window that sits below.
