LarsFosdal, 5 months ago @arose62 @jbm No preparation has been done. It is a natural reaction when wood ages under bark and if left alone, it would eventually become rotten.

LarsFosdal, 5 months ago @jbm In Norwegian it is called sur-bjørk, so soured is a direct translation. As mentioned, I didn't know the English term.
