"Dr. Zerbo points out that there are many routes to get into the TPN. Paying attention and observing what is going on with any of the senses activates the task-positive network. She also points out that being compassionate and kind, whether to oneself or others, activates the TPN"
Slightly bugged dwelling on #ADHD vs. #AuDHD, particularly with my experiences. I feel like a lot of non-medical #Autism resources lump ADHD symptoms and expereinces in with Autism ones, for good reason as a majority of Autis have ADHD, but now my impostor syndrome has gone "Oh I may be Autistic only" to "Oh I may be AuDHD" to "Oh I may be ADHD only" and it's really confusing!
@cferdinandi Good for you for quitting. For me, the prospect of finding a new job is such a huge Wall of Awful that I'm apt to stay in a toxic work environment until something explodes.
I really want to make a career in the #InfoSec field. Security is my passion. I haven't yet decided which role I'd like to get involved in. All I know so far is that Malware Analysis isn't for me. I'm interested to hear from folks in the field who are #ActuallyAutistic, have #ADHD, or both. What roles have been a good fit for you? I'm guessing that Incident Response would be far too high stress, but I could be wrong about that. Boosts appreciated. #NeuroDiverseSquad#AuDhd#AskingAutistics
@JEkis not autistic, not ADHD, so big disclaimer on this, but I could see bug bounty hunting or pentesting working. Generally those involve setting things to do theirthing and then looking at the results and poking at them which can either work really well or really not well depending on how your brain works. I'd say most blue team stuff might be difficult because it really nvolves buckling down and looking through a bunch of data which may be hard to do if your mind tries ot yank you around but again, I don't know if that's how your ADHD manifests so that's where my usefulness ends I'm afraid :)
@nekohayo Polls are hard. I choose "It would be a serious issue for me" but I think it's a wording that's a bit stronger than I'd choose myself. More like "It would be a real issue for me".
What would happen is that I would constantly lose focus as that URL changed which would trigger me and I'd get angry and annoyed. 😣
@mattiasb Yeah, I think using the world "real" would have caused more confusion than "serious", as anything can be said to be "real" by someone who perceives something, while "serious" is meant to clearly differentiate between an annoyance (still "real") vs something that "disrupts with consequences" levels of severity. i.e. Would it be considered harmful, or annoying, or not at all.
The characters (& choices) limit in polls makes it a bit hard to write things, but I think it's pretty balanced.
I am doing a survey about yoga and neurodivergent folk and your boosts would be appreciated.
If you are neurodivergent (self-realized or Dx'd, it's all good here), and fall under the vast ND umbrella, I'd love to hear from you. Quick 6-7 question survey and you can remain anon if you want.
@nflamel Right? It just hits on SO MANY THINGS in a scant 6 minutes.
Disappointment from authority figures. Comments from peers. Internalized feelings of failure. Finding your place of belonging and that thing you're good at. Meeting people who "get" you and accept you as you are.
I fucking love Bluey, but this episode is just one of the best, hands down.
Sitting down to make art & getting overwhelmed with the possibilities. I almost wish I was REALLY good at one specific type of art versus decent at a bunch of them. I know I could seriously level up if I genuinely dedicated myself to ONE particular style & medium, but I'd get so freaking BORED.
I'm mainly into sewing and woodland crafts ( I make a lot of decor for our witchcraft events, too), but last year I purchased a pyrography kit and that's been my focus artistically this year.
Do you use subtitles? I'm using them more and more when they are available? It helps me to keep track of what's going on, and I like that I can turn the sound down when if it gets overwhelming.
