« But again contemplation, as we normally use the word, has a sense of inactivity, a sense of not doing anything, of being completely still and passive, whereas zen is something highly active. So we really don't have an english word for dhyana/chan/zen. » ― Alan Watts, from Buddhism as Dialogue
"Co-founders Andrew Steigerwald, a scientist working on Capitol Hill, and Tim Huelskamp, a venture capitalist, felt stuck in a broken media landscape."
Have you ever seen the After Skool series on #youtube?
I thought it was fun drawings to illustrate interesting talks by people like Alan Watts & Ram Dass. I guess it's been a while or I've looked at the list of videos and....wow.
I read "The Book: On the Taboo Against Knowing Who You Are"in college. It opened me up to possibilities and a different way of looking at things. Lots happened.
About 15 years later my first sponsor in a 12-step program was a beautiful human, trans man and big fan of Ram Dass.
I moved so lost conact with him, but started listening to #RamDass & #AlanWatts talks as podcasts. Added in #Taoism pods and started reading the #TTC.
