It’s been a banner year for punk, hardcore, indie and metal, with fantastic releases across all those genres and more making my albums of the year list.
Here it is, my top 20 albums of 2023. It's not ALL metal, although there's a lot of metal. I know not everyone likes metal (or brutal death metal) - but there's some rap, some punk, a little post punk- actually, my top 3 here are all non-metal.

Working on compiling a list of my top 20 favorite albums that have been or will be released in 2023. At the end of the year I'll choose an 'album of the year' from this list. (I can already tell this will be an INSANELY difficult choice).
The process of going through all the 2023 albums to eliminate ones I'm not going to include has been a long one, too. I have 34 more to go through. So many great albums have already been released this year, and there's so many more to come!
