The Mighty Beamer Sword Spear is INCREDIBLY mighty.

(Android folks can grab Quest of Dungeons here if you wanna try it out. It's free, a blast, and you won't see ads: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.davidamador.quest_of_dungeons)

I think I've probably posted about Dungeon Cards (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.The717pixels.DungeonCards) on here before, a card flipping game (on Android, maybe on iPhone too?)

The same folks also make Card Fall (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.The717pixels.cardFall), which is similar, but..different. Still wild. Both require kind of interesting strategic thinking, and they both have that same kind of cute, stylized look.

Just killing cute little monsters on your phone and keeping your character alive as long as possible. 🤣

Wow, I actually beat the mobile version of Quest of Dungeons. Only did it ONCE on Switch, the main part, which is apparently all there is to the mobile part. On Switch, when you beat the first part, there's another part (which I haven't beaten yet - it's TOUGH).

The key is ALWAYS good armor. Luck and good weapons help too, but not dying instantly from powerful boss hits is key. The armor I had kicked my dodge chance WAY up.

Dig how it keeps track of all those stats, too. 🤣 Tapped almost 8 thousand times! 🤯

All the stats Quest of Dungeons shows when you beat it. Time played, food consumed, gold collected, traps, objects, even number of taps!

Had a REALLY good run of Quest of Dungeons going last night (a run I'd been saving my progress on, I'd been working on it over a couple days), and it was maybe one of my best runs ever. Felt really good. Level 12 warrior, down several levels in the dungeon, and then boom. Death. Outta nowhere.

I know QoD is probably not considered a true roguelike, so I'll say.. 'ah, turn-based dungeon crawling!' 🤣

Just realized I had Quest of Dungeons for Android from an itch bundle I grabbed a long time ago and I fear I may never get anything done ever again. 🤣 I have it on Switch, Xbox, and now, the QoD is in my pocket..

After I stopped playing Diablo tonight (3 more levels to go!), made dinner, and watched the new Ahsoka episode, I started trying out this game Gnollhack on Android (maybe it's on iOS too?)

It's basically Nethack. A lot like DCSS. It's fun as hell. I'm playing casual mode - no score. But there's saving, and it's just a really great mobile roguelike. I'm a gnoll bandit named Kuglskag, as shown in the first screenshot below.

The second screenshot is the Worn Items screen, which is similar to the look of your inventory (in your backpack). And you can only carry so much before you become too burdened- which makes things tough for an item hoarder like me, 🤣

The last two screenshots are the very cool, stylized Common Commands and Additional Commands screens. Check out those rad icons.

I'll definitely be playing a lot more of this.

A screenshot of Gnollhack's Worn Items screen, similar to the inventory screen. It's a tan paper look with a list of the items - all selectable.
A screenshot of Gnollhack - the cool, stylized icons of the Common Commands screen. Hands, wands, bows, it's all here!
A screenshot of Gnollhack - the second screen of cool, stylized icons for more commands. Horses, skulls, shovels..

Playing a lot of Pocket Rogue as usual. You find so many interesting items and you eventually learn what they do. In town there's a warehouse where you can store items for later, in case you die, and because you can only carry so much. I'm a supplies hoarder (unfortunately) but I just always want to try out everything to see what items can do, and also to try and find and keep the best stuff. But I always have to remind myself to actually use the stuff, as you'll just die anyway, and it lightens your pack.

As usual, my pack is totally full but I'm super curious as to what a "bottle of slugs" would do. 🤣 I've never run across one. You have to pick up items and look at their short descriptions to get an idea of what they'll do. But for many items, you won't know their true or full effect until you try them out! 😬🤣

I talked about Pocket Rogue briefly in December 2022, but I've been playing it a lot more lately - it's really the best traditional roguelike I've found for Android (It might be in the Apple Store too or other places, I have no idea).

It's fun as hell (and gets tough)! Make sure you watch your satiety, etc - find food when you can and remember to eat.

Luckily, health regenerates when you walk around more. Be careful- some monsters are easy, others are TOUGH. Always equip the best gear, etc.

It's a trip. Grab it at the Play store here, if you have an Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.game.sh_crew.pocketrogue

The town area for Pocket Rogue on Android. You'll find this area sometimes, it has a place to store things, and get things, and a staircase. Classic rogue look, all characters are white and yellow on a black background. The controls are shown at the bottom. There are directional controls with arrows on the left, and buttons for your character and a sword icon button to attack, etc on the right.
The death screen for Pocket Rogue on Android. It lists what killed you, your items, etc. When you die, you go back to level 1 via a chute.
Pocket Rogue's inventory screen where you can equip and use things. Watch that satiety - grab food!

Some weekends you get a lot done, some very little. I like both kinds. Most of today was the latter, just hanging with the wife watching Netflix and playing Wizorb. I'll probably dream in brick breaking. 🤣 Switching it up tonight with Diablo Immortal, which I can just never quit. I still blows my mind that this S21 can handle a game like this. Pretty detailed and CPU-intensive. I find it crazy fun. I've deleted most games off my phone but Immortal is a must, at, least for me. One of the most wild mobile experiences around (and it's also free on PC).
