Pictures of sea pinks will continue until the fediverse cheers up. Consider this a formal flowery warning.
We do love these amazing plants, growing in impossible conditions, and so colourful. #flowers #Assynt
We've been waiting for this. The thrift on Stoer Green is still waking after winter, but we know that it arrives early among the rocks close to the shoreline, so we headed there this morning. This was our reward.
The background qualifies for a #lichensubscribe tag too #Assynt #flowers
Anyone fancy a week in #Assynt, alongside the loch at the very navel at the Centre of the (known) Universe?
Just heard David And Karen from Stoer Bay Chalets have a cancellation for the week of 18th May. It'll probably be booked quite quickly, especially as it's reasonably priced. https://www.stoerbaychalets.co.uk/
After yesterday's spitefully cold easterly wind, the day in #Assynt dawns beautifully. And as I heard our song thrush when I went out to put out the bird food, here's a but of his song, with obligatos from other birdie-folk flying around.
And the word went out in #Assynt - There's an aurora on.
So in my jarmie bottoms out I went with my camera
Those are the lights of Stoer village in the pic
After waking to annoying emails, we needed some calming (and I still do) but I'm happy to share some calming sea video on this lovely day in #Assynt
(Hope the video works - processed for upload slightly differently)
We took a trip to Assynt today for a bit of steeps and sunshine. It didn't disappoint!
Stac Pollaidh may only be a wee hill of 612m in height but its prominence in the landscape makes it a fantastic viewpoint. Even Skye was looking out, and not just at people below us.
Morning Walk, and the drama of the morning light already fades to grey, but we could see Cocoa and Milkshake, and yell a greeting. They are Davie the Crofter's calfies, of which he is very proud. They were named by his step-grandchildren, and even he doesn't know which is which, #Assynt
Morning walk, and while the sky was on fire to the south east, to the west, the moon was setting over Meall Dearg, the Red Mound, living up to her name in the morning light.
(Quietly pleased with the timing of this pic!) #Assynt #MorningWalk
The cold snowy scene of Stoer Bay contrasts with this, taken from pretty much the same vantage point, but facing 45 degrees south. The sun trying its best against the weather. #Assynt
