This chonky tabby has become a frequent visitor at the balcony food bowl and I was girding my loins to put down the trap.
But see here! He has his right ear clipped, indicating that he's already had #TNR!
This is why the ear clipping is great. He can now indulge all he likes, and not have to worry that I'll swoop in and cart him off to the vet for a second de-balling!
Also, someone else is helping with TNR in my neighbourhood...
I’ve just spotted the black and white cat who normally sneaks onto my balcony at 3am! I set the trap for #TNR but accidentally left the scissors out which reveal that I cut the tie that holds the trap open. WILL HE CLUE IN?
Also strong possibility that Casper appears instead and walks right inside 🤦🏼♀️
LOOK WHO IS BACK! After a couple of weeks sulking (I mean… fair…) our brave Mamoru has snuck back onto the balcony in the deep night and stuffed his face. Looking sleek again, my friend!
I am ever so pleased to see him, as I always feel a bit anxious until they show up again in case the shock of the vet visit caused them to bolt into traffic or something terrible, even though I try to release in a quiet spot in their territory.
An afternoon with Casper, consisting of multiple snacks and a bit of posing on top of the air con unit!
The balcony webcam records in short bursts, which aren’t always back-to-back, and so the video jumps in a few places. But this is perhaps the longest recording of his exploits to date 😂
The trap is nonchalantly pinned open to lure another stray, not yet TNR’d, into a false sense of security 😉 The little #TNR ear clip can be seen on Casper’s right ear.
As dedicated fans of #CatsOfTheBalcony will know, Casper is one of my TNR stray cats, who is a regular multi-dinners-a-day visitor and known for his antics such a jumping from balcony to aircon unit to washing poles and knocking over the webcam.
His talent for mischief was spotted by @DavidBFox, who thought Casper had what it took to be part of the #VR game he is developing based on Rube Goldberg machines!
I’ve seen three new strays on my balcony recently. But the most frequent visitor is Casper, who I’ve already TNR’d. He has flour for brains, so will TOTALLY walk into a trap again. I’ve therefore rigged this with a water bottle attached to a cord to hold it open so I can manually trigger it to close.
… but my bet is Casper knocking over the bottle with his belly 😮💨
This is the current view from my balcony webcam. And we can go back in time through the saved photographs to place together the events that caused this anomaly 🤨
#NorahNeko thinks this new comer is an ABOMINATION!
… I’ve no idea why. She doesn’t seem bothered about the other cats!
But she went out to the catio (half the balcony is enclosed) and yowled protests for quite a while! New visitor largely unbothered. Maybe it was the lack of attention that irked my vein furball?
Annnnnd another round of abuse by #NorahNeko! Is this an ex-boyfriend from her wild days on the streets? Did he slight her once and never now will he eat in peace?
