Anyone have any experience with #Chiaki on Linux connecting to the PS5?
I can only register and connect via the PS5’s ipv4 address as the host address instead of the default 255.255. address. Has anyone else had this problem and if so did you find a solution?
Finally back home with a #PS5 again. All the games I missed are now included with #PSPlus so I’ll have quite a backlog. One reason I stopped playing my PS5 was the games were too expensive. Waiting a couple years solved that
#Chiaki also works great on #SteamDeck. I’m now debating whether to keep my #PlayStationPortal preorder. But it’ll have larger screen, 1080p (vs 720p), adaptive triggers and rumble.
I was so looking forward to using #Chiaki by the awesome Florian Märkl - when I saw there was a RPi port. We have a PS4 Pro and a PS5 on the network, but sometimes those rooms might be occupied and we'd like to play from another one of the big screens.
That port is sadly in a somewhat shaky state, and not maintained. It might work well when you only have one system on the network, but looking at log output I can see it constantly confuses which system is which, which IP, whether it's a PS5 or PS4 etc.
Yes I've forked. Maybe, just maybe, I'll find some time to clean this up ...
So, a majority of my time with the Burning Shores dlc has been via remote play on the Steam Deck, and I gotta say.. it's been really good. Both the dlc and the RP client, Chiaki. There's occasional glitches with green "fog", the occasional screen tear as it drops a frame or two, and the experimental haptics aren't there yet, but overall it's been nearly indistinguishable from playing on the 4k screen with a Dual Sense. Super impressed. #Gaming#ShareYourGames#SteamDeck#Chiaki#PS5#VideoGames
@mrpablington Finally started #HorizonForbiddenWest's Burning Shores dlc. Still playing #mlbtheshow23 . Thanks to @Azurakumo I also installed #Chiaki on the Deck (it's how I'm playing H:FW right now in fact), which led me to installing #Greenlight so I can remote play on my Series X too. Also still playing #Ascender in short bursts before bed each night.
Here's me conducting the first test of the Chiaki remote play client for the Deck. I installed the sandboxed version straight from the git. I've since done the process to add it to Steam so it will run fullscreen in Gaming mode. Adjusted settings and now it will wake up my 5 as well. Launched H:FW and ran around for a minute testing controls. I feel like I stole a Project Q prototype it's so smooth. Game still looks good in 1080p. #Gaming#ShareYourGames#SteamDeck#PS5#Chiaki#RemotePlay
