Well, it seems most of you would rather have dinner with Lt. Columbo than Adrian Monk. Out of the 62 people who took the poll, 85% picked Columbo, and 15% picked Monk.
So, tell me. Which fictional detective would you like to see #Columbo go up against in my next "Who would you rather have dinner with?" poll?
The one with the most votes will go head-to-head against Columbo.
I started watching Columbo at the start of the pandemic (my Dad was a big fan of the show, so I had watched some of the later TV movies with him as a kid), but kind of dropped it. I thought I got farther, but I guess I stopped in the middle of season 3. Started watching again tonight with Robert Culp's third appearance as the murderer.
There's nothing better than watching #Columbo go in for the proverbial kill. Another smarmy, rich asshole goes down (just watched the S3 episode "Publish or Perish").
Just almost impeccable colour design in this episode of Columbo, Maybe the only tv series from the 1970s that I could recommend to people without caveat (I, Claudius comes close too)
In particular I would use the supermarket colour palette in a game any day.
I didn't hesitate a moment when my dad said I could throw on an episode of #Columbo and it happens to have Vincent Price AND Martin Sheen in it! What a wonderous day.
Roddy McDowell deserved much more critical recognition for his performances in the Apes series, but at least he got the ultimate reward: a guest stint on #Columbo
TIL that famed banjo player Earl Scruggs was a pilot and once survived a crashing his own plane with only a broken leg. I thought to myself - oh, surely that’s the basis for that Columbo episode in which Johnny Cash plays a country singer / pilot who covers up a murder by jumping out of his own plane with a parachute and pretending he was thrown clear of the wreck with just a broken leg. BUT NO, it is not art imitates life! The Columbo episode aired in March 1974 and the Scruggs crash was in October 1975. Also, as far as we know, Earl Scruggs never murdered anyone. #NowYouKnow#EarlScruggs#JohnnyCash#Columbo#Aviation
