Finished the last round of #mending on these jeans.
Just in time so I'll have something to wear while I repair my other pair. I was annoyed about the other pair needing to be repaired again - until I realized I've had these jeans for about 20 years, so they've held up shocking well.
It's purposefully designed to make #repair economically unviable!
This shit should be made illegal by @EU_Commission because not even ATEX-certified radios and diving computers have that level of designed-in #unrepairability, and they even have fecking valid reasons to not be easy to be opened.
1/34 This started out as a much shorter thread about a related topic, but Something Happened and now it's a #LifeHack#instructional thread on keeping your house comfortable and saving #money and the #environment, through the magic of air movement. It's also timely, what with it being the start of the northern-hemisphere summer and southern-hemisphere winter.
5/34 Another one doesn't get as much attention as some of those do. It's this: your home's air will feel more #comfortable at a given temperature and humidity if it's moving.
When #heating, air movement keeps the air from stratifying, leaving a cold layer near the floor that makes your feet feel like they're freezing.
When cooling, it also does that, but in addition, moving air is better at evaporating #moisture from your #skin, which increases the cooling effect of that #evaporation.
