I had fun #paddling this afternoon. At Fairway Gorge Paddling Club - #FGPC’s #DragonBoat Open House on Jutland. I was the only disabled person who attended. Pics(except the panoramic one) are from my Mom.
Met my para-dragonboating coach, Katy & enjoyed some chats with her, at the open house. Met some support staff for the para-dragonboating pilot program too. We start the program next Saturday🙂🛶🌊
FYI - I have always been frustrated with mass #ableism in #Chinese & many other #Asian communities. I don't tolerate ableism by anyone & see it as a huge character flaw.
I believe it's very important for disabled Chinese & disabled Asians to stand up against ableism, when it happens. It's not OK to be an ableist & I am not very quiet about it.
As we mark the beginning of the 5th year of #covid please note the #wastewater levels are higher on this day then they have ever been on this same day in any prior year.

Declare Long Covid a National Emergency.
Implement Emergency Use Authorization for drug repurposing and trials.
Establish annual funding for Long Covid programs and research to find a cure.
Ensure racial and gender health equity in research, access to clinical trials, antiviral drug repurposing, preventative measures, educational campaigns, and social services.
Enact Clean Indoor Air Laws to prevent SARS-CoV-2 forward transmission in public spaces and forced-congregant settings.
Implement respirator use and clean air protections in healthcare facilities. Additionally, devise strategies to ensure immunocompromised patients or those with Long Covid are given reasonable accommodations and are not penalized. Enforce protected class status for people with Long Covid as disabled.
Fast-track compassionate allowance and sufficient social support for people with Long Covid in addition to increased funding for Home and Community Based Services.
Develop guidelines for physicians on Long Covid and continuing education on breaking research.
Acknowledge that Long Covid affects children and implement specialized care immediately.
Public tracking of SARS-CoV-2 in wastewater at Publicly Owned Treatment Works and provide affordable PCR testing nationwide.
Establish regular White House press communication regarding progress toward stated goals and real time data for Covid transmission awareness.
Heading to the bloodwork clinic, again. Hoping for some improved test results from last month. I'm still awaiting follow-up with local osteoporosis clinic & for bursitis surgeon follow-up - still no surgery date given.
