We might not like having notifications nagging us to do it, but keeping your PC up to date is a really important part of your digital security. Have you updated yours recently?

I'm very happy about my new article on the Fedora Magazine website. I'm revisiting an old topic here about how to ingest and visualize time series data with InfluxDB and Python, but this time using public data sets from the state of Connecticut.

The article has source code for the script as usual, so feel free to experiment.

Woah, back in 2006 when we started this in the #FedoraLinux Docs Project, we never thought to call it "documentation-as-code."

I wonder ... if we had gotten the branding right, could we have started a revolution too?

This is my evening tonight. I am kickstarting (automated Linux install) 13 laptops. The system owner wants to ship them to the training site tomorrow so I said I'd try to get all 13 kickstarted tonight. It took a bit of work, but I have all 13 in progress. Now I just have to wait a really long time as these systems are older and slower. Time to find some other work to do.

These are old and slow so now I wait, and wait, for them to finish.

I implore any of the contributors out there that might see this, please do not back the new telemetry proposal. I know telemetry can be incredibly valuable for improving the product offered by Fedora and I'm sure some great improvements can be made with it but I see this as your Amazon Lens moment.

If goes ahead with this it doesn't matter that the user can opt-out, it doesn't matter that the data is generic, it doesn't matter that it's anonymized, for now until the end of time Fedora will be called a spyware distro. You will hurt community trust in the project far more than anything you will gain from improving the software and I really don't want to see that happen.

General reminder for @fedora users:

In just a little over two weeks (May 16) Fedora 36 will go EOL! Make sure you set aside some time to upgrade to Fedora 37 or Fedora 38 before then!

If you need assistance, the documentation demonstrates how to upgrade with a variety of methods:
