#Genode 24.02 commences the year of Sculpt OS usability: redesigned audio infrastructure for versatile multi-channel routing and mixing at low latency ⭑ fuss-free remote testing of applications with the Goa SDK ⭑ Linux 6.1 TCP/IP port ⭑ improved HID device handling ⭑ multi-client Vivante GPU driver ⭑ suspend-resume support in integral drivers for GPU, AHCI, and NVMe
As every year, a small #Genode delegation will attend #fosdem24 at February 3 and 4 in Brussels, and we have the pleasure to invite you to two talks about our work.
#Genode 23.11 comes along quite techy: Kernel-agnostic DMA protection ⭑ Modernized virtualization interface ⭑ Linphone VoIP stack ⭑ PC power/frequency/temperature monitoring and control ⭑ 64-bit guest support in Seoul VMM
Sculpt OS 23.10 brings metering and power-management options of modern PC CPUs via an interactive user interface. Generally improved support for modern Intel-based laptops renders features like battery monitoring, keyboard backlight control, and external displays just working, (e.g., on Framework Gen 12). The PinePhone version usability improvements include: new screensaver (less than 40% power draw), functional volume buttons, flexible dial pad.
#GNU#HURD has always intrigued me ever since I learnt about it a decade or so ago. Back then it looked super intriguing and offering flexibility that goes even beyond Linux', but it was also much more limited in hardware support.
I recently looked it up again and it seems its development has slowed down (even more).
If anyone uses it, I'd love to hear your experience!
@ArneBab, ah, shoot, USB working is kindaa must. But it seems like it does look like progress and hopefully the drivers will be fixed in the next few years.
We have great news, #SculptOS 23.04 was published for the open-hwardware MNT Reform2 laptop by @mntmn adding NVMe and Wifi support, System-update functionality, Preset scenarios #genode#genodians
