I needed bindings for an app to interact with to submit feedback. Here's the generated bindings for libfeedback in case someone else needs it too:

0.2.0 is out 🚀 . This version adds the udev rules and first hwdb entries to mark keys and buttons as not unblanking the screen on press (like volume rockers or menu/back capacitive buttons).

phoc 0.39.0 will make use of this. We moved things into a library rather than phoc itself so other compositors can make use of it too.

I remember how nervous I was when (in early 2020) I went to the post office with my 📱 to drop off a 📦 and present the barcode on the phone. (Having previously scp'ed the pdf to the phone to show it in evince).

Would the 🔋 last? Would it overheat? Would the display stack hold? It worked.

Nowadays I don't spend a thought: Fill in the data on my laptop, save the pdf, have it synced automatically via to 's ticket-box folder and show it at the counter. ✅

@arunmani recently added folder support to 🚀 . Here's a short demo:

I've tagged a new release of mobile-broadband-provider-info:

https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mobile-broadband-provider-info/-/releases/20240407

It has updated providers, support for mms attachment size and we switched the build system to meson.

Lately I’ve been really hooked on #balatro.
I found out it uses the #löve2d engine, and I remembered something about Löve games being unintentionally cross platform.

And here we are: Balatro running natively on #linuxmobile (OP6 + #postmarketos + #phosh )
To run:

  • Copy Steam game files from other PC using manage/browse local files
  • Install Löve sudo apt install love
  • Run the game love Balatro.exe

My feed is enticing me to try again. Last was on an under powered tablet.

Question for hive mind:

If I am going to get a new (used) device to try it, what should I go for?

@tomstoneham devices with sdm845 SoC work pretty well (e.g. OnePlus 6), any x86_64 tablet would be nice with (for example)

Laptop died yesterday but thanks to the , the Baseus Dock, an HDMI Screen, a USB keyboard and 's docked mode I have access to most of the things via my phone.

helps a lot as that means I have my ssh keys available by just plugging it in.

Took me about 15min to notice that I didn't even plug a mouse in.

isyourbrainFOSS,

@haui For anyone wondering of a way to save the screenshot in , just paste the content to a file. Using wl-clipboard:
wl-paste > /home/purism/screenshots/$(date +"%Y-%m-%d_%H-%M-%S").png

Just make an alias or ctrl+r in the terminal so you don`t have to type it in

today i got my new tinker phone and I managed to install and on it. its definitely not a bug free experience but I love it. i sank like 10 hrs into it and its great fun.

the devs are very helpful if stuff doesnt work at all but mostly stuff can be solved with changing orientation or trying again.

nextcloud bookmarks and floccus doesnt wanna work atm and flathub outright is useless on this phone.

still, having a proper terminal and a phone i can own is great.

agx,

@haui flathub shouldn't be an issue. I'm installing apps from there on a regular basis on a with .

I gave KDE Plasma Mobile another go. It improved a LOT over the past few months. No crashes yet! It's a lot more stable now. Although not as stable as Phosh.

I like their whole "just copy Android" philosophy. Everything feels familiar and intuitive. I might keep it like this.

With some preparatory work to allow plugins to use objects from core and @arunmani 's nice work on custom quick settings already merged the often asked for caffeine toggle is within reach:

The caffeine toggle in Phosh's quick setting allows to prevent the session from going idle. The video demos this using "watch gnome-session-inhibit -l"

agx,

@phosh @arunmani …and we can do a night light toggle as a plugin too:

agx,

@alaraajavamma @phosh @arunmani you have to enable/disable the additional ones but I hope we land UI support for this in 0.39 too:

If you're using in docked mode a lot and (like me) play videos while doing other things then upcoming changes in to have apps always-on-top and keybindings to move windows into screen corners might be helpful:

A Video playing in with the video player staying always on top and being moved into the corners via keyboard bindings.

agx,

Forgot to add: toggling always-on-top will also get a visual indication in an upcoming release (likely 0.39.0).

Short demo showing how toggling always-on-top gives visual feedback (a flashing frame around the window)
