"Substack Is Setting Writers Up For A Twitter-Style Implosion," writes @andreagrimes https://homewiththearmadillo.blog/2024/04/02/substack-is-setting-writers-up-for-a-twitter-style-implosion/

(It's disheartening to see people I respect still posting there, given the rise of solid alternatives.)

@dangillmor I noticed how several friends + notable authors launched new Substack newsletters in January 2024 - well after the moderation scandal that made headline news around the world. I was so baffled. Naturally I didn’t subscribe to them, le sigh.

On a personal note, I moved TWO Substack newsletters to and I couldn’t be happier

Who is that strange spirit who haunts the old cave beneath the church?

And why does she think she has the right to berate children who do not meet her moral standards?

The Sluagh (the "Host") of Irish and Scottish folklore are sometimes depicted as ghosts, sometimes as fairies. They fly through the sky like a flock of birds, and carry off anyone they find. Some humans are left on a remote island, others are never seen again.

Exorcists have a bad habit of dumping malevolent spirits at the nearest convenient hill, swamp, or forest - without considering that other people might want to use those places, too.
