I bought a lap pillow recently. It’s technically a nursing pillow for babies, but I use it to elevate my needlepoint closer to my face. However, my cats are convinced I bought it for them, and I don’t have the heart to disappoint them…
Henry especially loves “tummy time” on the baby pillow.
I’m glad our little girl feels so safe and comfortable with us, but sometimes I wish she would be just a little more careful. I mean, at any moment a shark could come by and bite her leg right off, and it’s like she doesn’t even CARE. smh
In honor of #WhiskersWednesday, here’s a picture of Hen…..oh wait, where is he? I could’ve sworn he was in this picture somewhere. He’s so stealthy when playing hide-and-seek with his sister!
Henry enjoys helping me with laundry. Here he is checking to make sure the towels are sufficiently soft and dry and fluffy at the end of the cycle. So helpful.
Went in for some apex-predator razor-claw footage. Ended up getting extra feet, some biscuits, and an adorable smooshy face. Very generous extras from Her Highness. ❤️
A day late for #Caturday, but Henry and Diamond want you to know that it’s very cold out and they don’t like it at all thank you very much. Here they are demonstrating their “advanced survival cuddle” technique (not recommended for beginners).
Two straight weeks of roasting in front of the fireplace. 🔥 🐈
<Go away, human. And don’t bother us unless it’s time for breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, supper, or bedtime snack. Then you may spoon-feed us canned food in front of the fireplace so we don’t have to raise our heads. Perhaps a brief rub of our warm, soft bellies. But not too much. Now begone until you are summoned again!>
(Update: so far, the cat tunnel under the tree has worked! After a few initial attempts to reach over/stand on it and paw at ornaments (which resulted in dissatisfied harrumphing and pathetic baby whines), Henry hasn’t tried again since. He has managed to somehow climb over the tunnel and under the tree skirt to nap beneath the branches (see pic 2). But this is adorable and hasn’t bothered the tree so I’m allowing it.)
Finished putting up the tree, tried a new thing this year to keep Henry from climbing in and batting the ornaments off (placed a doughnut-shaped cat tunnel around the base!). Will it work? Only time will tell…
P.S. - Diamond would like me to inform you that she is EXCEEDINGLY well-behaved, a proper lady in all respects, and would NEVER be caught climbing a silly Christmas tree. (Narrator: key word is “caught”)
Happy #Caturday! Henry is having a rough day so far. He was sleeping in his favorite spot (on top of the couch squished between the window and blinds) when he stretched in his sleep, causing him to roll though the blinds, down the front of the couch, and land on his bed and pile of crinkly paper. Unfortunately we were there to witness it, which undercut his insistence that nothing at all had happened thankyouverymuch. It was adorable and hilarious.🤣
Sweet Henry is beginning to feel better and acting more like himself. Not out of the woods yet but making progress! And he must be smelling better too, because his sister has stopped hissing at him whenever he walks by 🤣
The kitties are practicing their Advanced Snuggling skills in preparation for this weekend’s cold snap. Can’t be too prepared. Cold weather survival is serious business.
And although it is #ToeBeansTuesday, there are sadly no toe beans to be spotted in this picture, as their little piggies are completely smooshed into each other’s soft belly.
