#UNdoctors were granted access to the #Nasser#Medical Complex on Sunday, two days after Israeli troops raided the facility after reportedly receiving intelligence that hostages were being held there.
Video filmed inside shows #MedicalWorkers evacuating patients by torchlight and describing damage to the facilities. One UN doctor describes the scene as a "death zone".
"The #Medical Sector in #Gaza is not on the verge of collapse anymore, it has already collapsed,” a #Jordanian#doctor who recently returned from Gaza said.
The doctor Mohammad Amro was volunteering in a main hospital in war torn Gaza and said,”The situation there is #catastrophic.”
The hospital system is barely functional. Disease is running rampant. #MedicalWorkers are being kidnapped, tortured & killed. The world is letting it happen.
#Israeli attacks against “enemy” #hospitals date back at least to the siege of Beirut in 1982. In previous assaults against #Gaza, #Israel often targeted doctors in their sleep, by collapsing a lethal mass of concrete-usually in the form of a multigenerational home-atop the doctor & tens of their family members.
