Absolutely stupid, not at least surprising. PWAs mean that less developers will be forced to use Apple's IAP and subscribe to their yearly fee (£80), and thats a significant cut to Apple's bottom line.
As someone considering iOS development as a hobby, I’m curious how much time is spent on “maintenance” of an app?
Stuff like keeping up with engine changes (if applicable), SDK changes, new devices, responding to iOS updates, etc. Things that are introduced by outside forces.
Stuff that’s not bug fixes or updates/upgrades, which I would consider “self induced.”
