Almost walked out of work this morning after I was asked why I left the window unattended. I had walked across the lobby to turn the lights on out there. (They were still on dim) I was 10 seconds away if anybody had come in.
Apparently I'm supposed to let the bosses know the lights are off so they can call facilities. I literally spent less than a minute walking over & pushing a button that the facilities guys showed me so we wouldn't have to call for something that stupid.
I sent a very professional, carefully worded work email that was then forwarded to my boss as a complaint. Boss came to me and said that "kiss my ass" message was even better than my last one. I did not get in trouble. The whiner did.
Mom made herself lunch WITHOUT trashing the kitchen.
I got the vacation days I bid on for next year, so I can go to my favorite niece's wedding.
A happy customer left with his report & came back 10 minutes later with 2 packages of cookies for Marsha & I.
Talked to the little brother for about an hour tonight. Bonus- I got to talk to the SIL for about 10 minutes after she decided HE needed to move the damn Elf on the Shelf.
Been home for 2 days with a massive sinus infection. Boo Kitteh has been quite attentive. Trying not to worry about what my inbox looks like at work - per a conversation with the boss on Monday "do what you can, when you can."
At least today I can eat (so far, anyway) and stay awake for more than 30 minutes at a time. Going to try walking to the mail room later this afternoon!
Boss watched me answer phone calls while helping customers at the window & responding to email requests. Without mixing anything up. "I'd encourage you to apply for the supervisor job, but I don't think we can afford to lose you up here!"
Bus driver told me that the hi-vis vest I wear in the morning makes it easier to see me at the stop.*
It's Monday again. At least it's the Whiner's work from home day, so the office won't be too unpleasant. Temps are supposed to be down a bit this week, which is something else to be grateful for...I was tired of breaking into a sweat every time I opened a door to the outside!
Coworkers who say "but we've always done it this way" about stupid outdated jobs and can't get it through their thick skulls THAT THINGS HAVE CHANGED...
Boo Berry & the fatigue won yesterday. The coworker that whines all the time finally had something to whine about. The coworker who has to listen to her on Fridays texted and asked me to let HIM know whenever I'm not going to be there so he can bring ear plugs. I told him to help himself to the ones in my top drawer. He texted back a few minutes later and thanked me. LOL
