Sometimes C. S. Lewis' Chronicles of Narnia feature walking trees and other times feature dryads. As the two never interact with each other, it's unclear what their relationship is or if they're actually the same species. However, the art depicts them as very different. Possibly Narnian walking trees are shapeshifted dryads.

Greetings, myth lovers! In the wake of #ValentinesDay our theme this week is: Sweets and sweet things 🍬 Which #myths talk about a sweet treat or other sweet things? Tell us the #myth and tag us with #MythologyMonday for boosts!
If people want a #gameofthrones style adaption of the #Narnia#multiverse , The events leading to the ruins of Charn would be a fascinating concept with the Empress Jadis (The White witch) destroying the world for her own petty power struggles. that could be used to Kick off the reboot starting the the Magicians Nephew aimed strictly at kids.
After J.R.R. Tolkien saw the wonderful map that Pauline Baynes had done for his fictional world of "Middle Earth", he was so pleased that he told C.S. Lewis to have the same done for Narnia.
Here is Baynes beautiful look at Narnia, and always loved how she somehow really captured something of the kindness of Aslan the lion.
As a life-long fan of the Narnia Chronicles (and C. S. Lewis in general, misogyny and racism aside), it vexes me inordinately that all new editions of the Chronicles are published in chronological order, rather than in the order in which they were written (and were obviously intended to be read).

Table-top role-playing games, and entertaining books of knowledge, secrets, & pop-ups can entertain kids of many ages for the holidays, but... be cautious with the fancier books, to keep them in good order.
"How can you have #Satyrs, #Minotaurs, and #Centaurs, and depict them all as potentially good and heroic characters? Where is the mythological precedent for that?"
Using my first communion bookmark to keep my place in The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. I feel C.S. Lewis would approve (TIL: he died one day before the first episode of Doctor Who was broadcast).
MDMRN Twin 1: Are they supposed to be fighting people?
MDMRNia: What's the word for after the world ends?
Me: Post-apocalyptic?
MDMRNia: Yea, that. This video is like that.
