Jetzt geht es gleich weiter mit der #bahn unter den Ärmelkanal nach London. Ich wurde mehrmals aufgefordert 1,5-2h vorher einzuchecken. So jetzt bin ich pünktlich 2h vorher da, um dann festzustellen, dass das Terminal erst 1,5h vorher auf mach. 🤦Supi!
Musste in Umweg über Oxenholme nehmen und bin jetzt, nach dem ich das letzte Stück noch mit dem Bus gefahren bin, nach 9h angekommen. Schön hier in Glenthorne #Quaker Centre. Sieht ein bisschen aus, wie bei #ShauntheSheep.
Von Oxenholme ging es mit den Schienenersatzverkehr weiter nach Carlisle und von dort weiter mit der #Bahn nach Newcastle. Am Ende habe ich 4,5h für die ca. 105km Luftlinie! Kaum zu glauben, dass das das Land ist, in dem die Eisenbahn erfunden wurde! Aber das Glenthorne #Quaker Centre kann ich empfehlen. Und auch Ben Pink Dandelion macht sein Job super sympatisch! @quakers

Three Rivers worship group became a monthly meeting of New England Yearly Meeting on Saturday. I keep hearing the birth metaphor being used to describe this event, but I don’t know if that really resonates for me - does that mean it had been gestating up until now? Maybe I’m too literal. In any case, there was a lot of pain and conflict around the process, and much healing work remains to be done. Do I want to go to Meeting for Worship ( #Quaker Meeting) or do I want to take a nap. Both involve resting, getting energy, and tapping inner resources. One will take some effort during (worship) and one will make me feel yucky for a while after (napping). I don't know.

I really, really like the idea of the fediverse. The transformation of facebook from a place centered around my connections to friends and family to one infested with ads and algorithms pushing more extreme content was crushing for 20 year old me who wanted to believe deeply in the potential of the internet to transform society for the better. However having hardly any connections here and not being able to import contacts feels daunting.
