Culzean Castle overlooking the Clyde coast near Ayr. It was designed for the Kennedy family by Robert Adam and was built towards the end of the 18th Century. It also served as the home of Lord Summerisle, played by Christopher Lee in the 1970s horror film The Wickerman.

So glad I caught this brilliant little exhibition at The Horse Hospital! Flesh to Touch, Flesh To Burn! Don't Keep The Wicker Man Waiting! 50 Years of The British cult horror film.
I particularly enjoyed seeing the stop-motion figures from Radiohead’s 2016 video for Burn The Witch, a Trumpton homage to Summerisle’s seasonal activities.
This weekend, the Wicker Man returns to Galloway, with the restored version of the film at Newton Stewart cinema today and a recreation of the burning at Burrowhead tomorrow.
