@DemocracySpot I like how I caught myself thinking of this song as newer Tom Petty, but noooo, not even the '90s. Look at young baby Tom Petty. <3

@Elleaster

Yes, we were young then. I was living half-time in LA around this time. Like a time capsule. Some GO-GOs videos, same.

Feeling nostalgic for some reason.

George Harrison is my favorite Beetle, hands down. Ringo Starr comes next. The other two can fight over 3rd.

Anyway, there's a lot I love about this. I didn't end up a huge Prince fan (there's a story there, because I was, but then it got learnt outta me, boy), but I have never seen him shred like this.

And it's not virtuosic guitar playing either. It's just fucking great music. And he literally drops the mic and walks off the stage at the end.

@dtauvdiodr amazing performance. I've seen it called the best solo of all time and while I'm not sure about that, it's definitely a performance for the ages.

Aha, I've been in front of Tom Petty's house before and had no idea! (helped one of his neighbors with some bees, although too late to rescue them -- they had been nailed by a pest service :-(

ai6yr,

Tom Petty's former house up for sale. No freeway running through the yard. 🤷 https://journa.host/@steventdennis/112340753369438530

@ai6yr we use to ride our bikes by his place on our way to chicken rock in the early 80s (year before he moved in). They filmed Barnaby Jones (with William Shatner) next door in mid 70s.

I have another one for #TuneTuesday and #SameTitleDifferentSong. This one often comes to mind for me, too. The third one is missing the 'ing' but I'm still counting it, especially since Dave played for Tom and they were friends. I love the SHIT outta all THREE of these songs.

@wendigo @Kitty haha thank you - I managed to nail the big ones I usually think of. Strangely, both sets start by being Floyd related. And the circle is unbroken, by and by 😂

MOJO (Extra Mojo) is a special edition of the 2010 and The Heartbreakers album (out now).

One of two tracks recorded for the original album but not included

🎧 | A collector's edition of 's MOJO drops October 20 to coincide with Petty's birthday. The live performances on the LP were recorded at the band's rehearsal space — "The Clubhouse" — with no overdubs.

He said, "It's blues-based. Some of the tunes are longer, more jammy kind of music. A couple of tracks really sound like the Allman Brothers – not the songs but the atmosphere of the band."
