Meet Ferdinand, the Curious Dust Bunny!
As the mascot of the Brown Ajah Ferdinand has travelled the world with different Brown Siblings for at least 15 years!
Every Brown Sibling receives a Brown journal from another Brown as well as a shawl. The journal is used when meeting other Browns and is one of my favourite traditions!
I've attempted to tackle this project a couple times, but this is the first time I'm somewhat satisfied with the result. I used the video linked below as tutorial. My first time #watercolor#painting without a line drawing as a guide. This will be part of a series; I wonder if anyone will recognize what I'm going for? It'll hopefully be obvious when I finish more in the series.
Here's the second image in the series. Here is where the target audience will either get what I'm doing, or will make it clear that I've failed. If I've succeeded, the target audience can now name both images.
Now that I know people recognize what I'm doing, I can finally let everyone else in on it: I'm illustrating #TheWheelOfTime novel titles to help me remember them & their order. So far they are:
Book 0: New Spring
1: The Eye of The World
2: The Great Hunt
3: The Dragon Reborn

Background is in the colours of the Brown ajah; a light and a darker brown. The Brown ajah's logo is in the centre of the image. It has the brown tree on a circle surrounded by petals. Text reads: Social media takeover! The Brown Ajah.
This week we will focus on the Brown Ajah of TarValon.Net, which is also my ajah! Like the Brown ajah in the books we are a curious bunch, always seeking knowledge.
Wheel of Time is a descriptive series where we learn a lot about the food and culture of the nations. For instance, the Domani eat using sursa (chopsticks) and peaches are famously poisonous. What's a WoT dish you would want to try?
Have you ever tried making something inspired by the books?
The ending of Lord of Chaos is phenomenal and it is even considered by many to be the best book ending of the series. It is also a pivotal moment for our heroes and the story. Was it your favourite part of LoC or do you have a different favourite moment?
Did you know that Robert Jordan had to fish his publisher on the book's title? They wanted it to be called The Lord of Chaos but Jordan insisted on dropping "The".
