I don't know who needs to hear this, but a simple hmac'd timestamp eliminates the need for #captcha and stops 99.9999% of bots using web forms.

Google's "Web Environment #Integrity" #proposal is one of the #evilest things I have ever seen proposed for the #internet, possibly only behind #government #IDs being required for any access.

We currently sign our factory images releases with the signify tool from OpenBSD. It provides tiny signatures that are easy to verify on any distribution with signify in their repositories. This is much less important than in the past because you can verify the completed install.
