Han Kuo-yu (韓國瑜) of the KMT was elected as the speaker of Taiwan's 11th Legislature. The vote went along party lines with the TPP's caucus abstaining from the second round of voting after their candidate Huang Shan-shan (黃珊珊) was eliminated.

"The CEC has now officially counted 6,936,546 votes. It has Lai with an even bigger margin that the TV counts showed. He has 41.69 percent of the vote, compared to 33.15 percent for Hou and 25.17 percent for Ko."
It's pretty clear now that the DPP's Lai Ching-te will be Taiwan's next president.
