When did I become the kind of person who gets in from a walk and looks up photos on plantnet? Saw a lovely astrantia by Rochdale Canal in Hebden Bridge and moss-ferns on a dry stone wall near Mytholmroyd

Also saw lots of fireweed, nettles, brambles and some Himalayan balsam

Pretty pink flowers in various stages of opening and going over against a background of greenery and a stone wall

I love having wildflowers grow in my garden. Not least because they require no effort on my part.

I did sow some mixed wildflower seedballs earlier in the year, but not sure if these have grown from those, or if they've found their own way into the garden. Either way, they're welcome.

Let wildflowers into your life! They're far better than a manicured lawn or gravel or a lump of plastic.

A white flower with heart shaped petals and a yellow centre, surrounded by serrated green leaves. It is lit by dappled sun.
Many small bright purple flowers growing from the sides of a light green stem . There is one plant in the foreground and a few others behind. It is well lit on a sunny day.

My last iris blossom - there are no more buds waiting to unfurl. They had a glorious year and gave me so much happiness.
