My retired Dad didnt leave the house for 3 days, missing deadlines for bills&chores, because and had him convinced:
there were ongoing riots across the city (there werent),
Markets were shut (they werent),
Video of a blast ten mins from our house (no such thing),
the country was about to have a civil war (it wasnt).

FYI, international medias still running the last as fact.
