After 75 years of failure, one would imagine that a people would learn what works and what doesn’t, both from their own experience, as well as the experience of others.
What’s astonishing is that a war that was embarked on so willingly, with so much unanimity, and with so much excitement could be later remembered as a story of pure #victimhood 🔥🔥🔥
Yet before the war was even fully over, Constantin #Zureiq published a passionate #lament of the #Arab failure to defeat #Israel, The Meaning of the Disaster [#Nakba], giving birth to the word that would be used from as a shorthand for the traumatic #Arab defeat in that war.
Slapping the labels "enshittification" on businesses and "fascist" on individuals is all the rage now.
Though justified in many cases, these labeling acts are quickly becoming a "See I'm woke too" sort of virtue signaling.
People with tens/hundreds of thousands of followers doing this, and their posts getting hundreds/thousands of uncritical engagements is only going to make things worse.
Following up on an earlier discussion today about #Brave browser (and search), I want to lament the loss of the #Gigablast#SearchEngine which was the last I know of which honored giving results which only included words immediately prefixed with '+'. A decade or so ago these kind of result filters were fairly common; then the rare "advanced search" option, now nothing (that I can find).
So I #lament.
And I acknowledge that I may not have looked hard enough in all the right nooks & crannies.
